Full Story: "CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. - Jeff Hornagold loved being a UPS driver.
So when the suburban Chicago man died this week of lung cancer, longtime co-worker Michael McGowan agreed to take him on one last delivery.
McGowan transported Hornagold's body from Davenport Family Funeral Home to Saturday's funeral services in his UPS truck.
McGowan says he plans to keep a picture of Hornagold in his truck until he retires so that they can keep riding together.
Hornagold was a UPS driver for 20 years, and his wife Judy Hornagold described him as 'just the happiest UPS man alive.'
She says the special delivery was the perfect tribute"

Air hostess picks up chocolate bar, wins space trip
Full Story: "PARIS (Reuters) - A French air hostess will become one of Europe's pioneer space tourists after picking a chocolate wrapper out of the rubbish and finding a winning number in a competition to fly to the upper reaches of the earth's atmosphere.
Mathilde Epron, 32, said she had bought a Kit Kat chocolate bar at her local supermarket but initially threw the wrapper in the bin, telling herself that 'it's only others who win.'
Two hours later, thinking back to the competition, she decided to try her luck and fished the wrapper out of the bin, only to find a code marked inside.
'For someone who works in air travel it's really a dream come true,' she told France Info radio."
One lady's second thought paid off !!

Sex, blood and baby names traded for free U.S. gas
Full Story: "NEW YORK (Reuters) - Some U.S. motorists sick of getting clobbered at the pump seem willing to do just about anything for free fuel, from giving up the right to name their children to stealing from day-care centres to donating blood.
In Orlando, Florida, David Partin pledged to name his son after local radio hosts to win a $100 (50 pound) gas card as part of a contest. Partin will collect the card in December, when his son is born, if he can produce a birth certificate proving the baby is named Dixon Willoughby Partin, after the hosts.
'(His wife said) this is his problem to explain when the child is older,' Greg Stevens, WHTQ-FM program director told Reuters.
At the Shady Lady Ranch brothel in Beatty, Nevada, clients who spend $300 or more this month will receive $50 gas vouchers as part of a promotion to beat the summer slump in business.
'It's rocking along. We're doing quite well. June and July historically are not big months,' said James Davis, who co-owns the ranch with his wife, Bobbi.
The first $1,000 in gas cards were given out within a week, he added.
In Mesquite, Texas, thieves drained $100 worth of gasoline from buses used by the Higher Ground Church day-care centre and have hit four or five other church centre fleets in the area.
'It was someone who was desperate,' said James Green, the church's pastor. 'All he had to do was come and ask us and we would have bought him a tank of gas.'
The American Red Cross, meanwhile, is running a summer raffle where blood donors are eligible to win a year's supply of fuel."
Will do anything for FREE gas !

Kan. town sets pair of penny world records
Full Story: "FORT SCOTT, Kan. - Hundreds of volunteers have proven pennies really can go a long way. Miles, in fact.
Three days after the first coin was placed on the ground Tuesday evening, the group had assembled a 40-mile-long chain of pennies Friday night in the parking lot of Fort Scott Middle School.
'This is pretty awesome,' said volunteer Diana Mitchell.
It's the longest line of pennies ever assembled, eclipsing the old mark by more than five miles, according to an official from the Guinness Book of World Records. The previous record was 34.57 miles, set in Malaysia in 1995"

It pays to go in an Indian public toilet
Full Story: "NEW DELHI (Reuters) - It pays to use a toilet in southern India, as residents are earning close to a dollar a month by using public urinals, a scheme launched by authorities to promote hygiene and research in rural areas.
Dozens of people are queuing up to use toilets in Musiri, a remote town in Tamil Nadu state, where authorities have succeeded in keeping street corners clean with the new scheme, The Times of India newspaper said on Sunday.
'In fact, many of us started using toilets for urination only after the ecosan (ecological sanitation) toilets were constructed in the area,' said S. Rajasekaran, a truck cleaner.
The urine was also being collected and tested for its efficacy as a crop fertiliser, an official of the state's agricultural university added.
People relieving themselves in the open is a common sight in India's rural towns and villages, as basic sanitation still eludes millions."

Irish woman seeks "husband" for 120 litres of beer
Full Story: "Irish woman seeks 'husband' for 120 litres of beer Sat Jul 5, 6:37 PM ET
SONKAJARVI, Finland (Reuters) - Julia Galvin came to Finland looking for a man that would carry her 120 kg over a 253-metres track -- the incentive being the chance to win the wife-carrying world title and beer worth her body weight
In the end the Irish woman was carried by an English man through a pool and across hurdles. She did not make the gold, but said she would keep trying until the title and the beer was hers.
'I think I am worth carrying because I am a walking party,' she said.
Wife-carrying is one of a host of bizarre contests that Finns, who can tend to gloominess in the long winter dark, have devised for the scant months of summer when the sun hardly sets and people's mood turns frolicsome."
